FFE – 3171 MR/S – Adjustable Vibration Switch (1–9 g), Manual or Solenoid Reset

The FFE 3171 series are rugged, weatherproof vibration switches designed to protect rotating and reciprocating machinery by detecting excessive vibration levels. They use a steel ball and magnetic mechanism that trips a microswitch when the set vibration threshold is exceeded. The switch remains latched until manually or remotely reset, depending on the variant.

• Model Variants:

  • 3171 MR: Manual reset via front pushbutton

  • 3171 S: Remote or manual reset via internal solenoid coil  

• Adjustable Trip Range:

  • 1 g to 9 g peak acceleration (factory set at 3 g standard)

  • Trip level set externally via top-mounted screw  

• Contact Configuration:

  • SPCO internal microswitch (single-pole)

  • DP/DPST available in dual-pole (solenoid) version  

• Electrical Ratings:

  • 5 A at 240 VAC non-inductive

  • 3 A at 30 VDC non-inductive

  • Solenoid coil: 48 W max, intermittent duty (25%)  

• Construction & Protection:

  • Die-cast zinc alloy enclosure, IP66/67 rated

  • Operating temperature: –35 °C to +85 °C (weatherproof), options for Ex versions  

• Mounting & Connection:

  • Mount vertically using M5 screws (reset button at bottom)

  • 20 mm cable gland entry, with screened or SWA cable recommended
